Intro to WW Youth : Launch & Spin (S3)

Service Description

Classes meet every Wednesday from 2-4pm from April 8th-May 13th In this high-energy, six-week course for makers aged 11–15 yrs, students explore the intersection of craft and physics by designing and building their own wooden launch sticks and spindle tops. Young designers will master shop safety and professional tools - including the band-saw and lathe - while using design thinking to iterate on weight distribution and momentum for maximum performance. The session is packed with collaborative exercise, featuring a mid-course "spin-off" and a Final Championship Contest (family is welcome to join) to see whose top spins the longest on the last day of session. Each student will leave with a handcrafted kit and the confidence to turn creative ideas into functional, high-performance art.
