Turniture (Session 1)

Service Description

In this 6-week introductory class, students will learn topics such as milling and joinery as well as spindle turning on the lathe to make a beautiful three-legged stool. No previous woodworking experience is necessary and all materials will be provided. This class will serve as an introductory course for both woodturning and furniture making, so students who take it can move on to more advanced courses in either topic. SKILLS TAUGHT Milling rough lumber Joining rough lumber Basic spindle turning ATTENDANCE / MAKE-UP POLICY During this class, students will have access to the shop during class time only. In the event of an absence, students can make up their work during one of our office hours. The office hours schedule can be found on our woodshop calendar here: https://www.clayroomsf.com/woodshopcalendar. Students should communicate with their instructor about what work they need to complete to catch up before coming to office hours. CLASS COST: 18 hrs * $25/hr + $50 material cost = $475
