Storybook Surfaces with Celia Feldberg
2-day hands-on workshop with Celia Feldberg
Service Description
Illustrated surfaces meet functional pots in this weekend workshop with Philadelphia based artist Celia Feldberg. Celia will demo making a variety of forms on and off the wheel and guide the class through her process of using sgraffito and underglaze to create a pen and watercolor-like effect. Students will practice strategies for planning and sketching, responding to form, developing characters, and creating narratives. We will focus on both the technical, like getting clean linework, and emotional, like getting comfortable drawing on clay. Welcoming those who love to draw and those who “can’t draw a stick figure” to explore this playful and accessible approach to surface design.
