Service Description
6-week class; Wednesday's 6:30-9 pm Thursday's 6:30 pm-9 pm Wednesday, August 10th-September 14th Thursday, August 11th-September 15th Includes all materials, classes, and finishes. In this class, learn the fundamentals of furniture-making as well as safety in the woodshop. Make your very own multi-purpose step stool that can serve as a nightstand. Class 1: Orientation and introduction to woodshop safety. Students will begin to mill wood and start rough cuts. Class 2: Students will continue milling and rough cuts before we discuss layout and later assembly. Joinery (+ brief history) Class 3: Students will continue to work on layout and begin fine cuts using various tools. Class 4- Students will finish any fine cuts and begin to assemble their projects while learning about the order of assembly. Class 5- Workday and final assembly. Class 6- Extra Work Day. This day will be extra time to complete any aspects of the project and learn various finishing techniques. *Due to limited woodworking staff, there will be no open studio access for the woodshop
