This is a 6-week intro based course on learning furniture making within the scope of making a step stool class. Students will learn the process of milling, joinery and finishing in this 6-week course Week 1 "Introductions | Class overview- Week-by-week breakdown | Showcase final product What is milling and purpose? Milling- Similar size blanks, sizes (18"", 2"")" Week 2 "Glue-up panels 3 glue-ups: 1. panel with 5 elements 2. with 3 elements 3. panel with 2 elements) Idle time discuss glue-ups, next steps and some spoon carving" Week 3 "- plane the glue-up for the legs - Chop the panel 2 element board in half. Make triangle with for the legs/base" Week 4 "- Dado cuts on the legs with a 15 degree for 1st step - Have everyone plane down 1st step to the same width this way dado blades don't have to be adjusted - Bandsaw cuts of outside of steps panel 2 and 3 (i.e. round corners)" Week 5 "- Sanding (up to 220) - Assembly and final glue-up (two steps)" Week 6 Sanding and finishing
