Service Description

Tuesdays @ 6:00-8:30 pm, August 11-September 15 Note: This class does NOT require wheel throwing experience Adorn the walls of your home with your own creations! This class covers handbuilding fundamentals such as slab-building, coiling, and slipping and scoring, with a heavy emphasis on slabs. We will learn how to measure for shrinkage, use high-temperature wire, and other considerations in order to ensure our work is functional. Students will make their own hooks, shelves, picture frames, and Light switch/Outlet cover, adding their own decorative flair to each of their pieces. Week 1: Hangers, Shelves/Altars Week 2: Picture Frames Week 3: Glaze/Underglaze overview/Workday Week 4: Light switch/Outlet cover Week 5: Workday Week 6: Glaze party! Class includes: - 25 lbs of clay - 6-weeks of 2.5 hours of instruction - Unlimited use of studio during open studio hours - Firing fees - Glazes
