Saturday, June 28th 10am-4pm Clayroom SoMa, 375 9th Street Join us for a complete one-day session covering the art of plaited basket weaving. Adrien, an artist and educator based in Oakland, will guide your experience learning how to weave natural reed into a functional and beautiful basket. We provide all the tools and materials needed and you will walk away with your very own handmade basket at the end of the day. No previous experience required. The workshop is limited to 10 people. Artist Bio Adrien Segal is an artist based in Oakland. Drawing from landscape, science, history, emotion, and perception, her interdisciplinary work bridges the gap between scientific rationality and the emotional nature of human experience. Her work in sculpture and public art has been made from materials such as wood, ceramic, glass, bronze, and stone. She received a BFA in Furniture Design from California College of the Arts. www.adriensegal.com
